Description
S-NCI can be used for repairing cast iron and joining various types of cast iron products, such as cylinder heads, engine bases, housings, and gears. Repair of mechanisms, alloys, and ductile iron.
Details
Usage characteristics:
S-NCI is a graphite-type coated electrode that deposits nickel metal on the weld seam. The hardening of the heat-affected zone is minimal, and the treatment of weld seams is relatively simple. Therefore, it is suitable for welding alloyed cast iron with poor weldability, ductile iron, and components under hydraulic pressure, as well as ordinary cast iron.
Usage notes:
Completely remove the base metal from the part being repaired.
There is a possibility of crack propagation or hole formation at both ends of the part being repaired.
Keep the length of the weld metal less than 50 mm (2 inches) to dissipate welding heat. Use the reverse step method or the symmetric method alternately.
Hot forging on each pass.
The preheating temperature varies depending on the size, type, and shape of the base metal. Typically, 150°C (302°F) is suitable.
Welding position: F, HV
Current: AC or DC+
