The clutch holding tool holds the compressor clutch in place while removing the retaining bolt using adjustment pins according to the holes in the clutch. This tool prevents the clutch disc from rotating when moving the shaft nut. The adjustable design with three pins is intended for GM R-4 compressors, but this tool is also suitable for other GM clutches, Pitts, Warner, and Ogura.
