Usually, there are no problems with a functioning battery when the outside air temperature is above zero. Starting the engine in such conditions can be ensured by a battery that is only half charged. When the air temperature drops below zero, the capacity of the battery immediately decreases by 1.5 to 2 times. Also, in cold weather, starting the engine requires a higher starting current, as the motor oil in the crankcase thickens, making it harder for the starter to turn the crankshaft.
