Clamp converter (81801)

VOREL brand 81801 universal clamp meter allows you to perform basic electrical measurements. For some measurement quantities, the meter is able to select the range itself depending on the measurement result. The meter is equipped with measuring clamps, which allow you to measure the AC current in a single wire using the inductive method without having to disconnect the circuit or disconnect it from the power source. This method also makes it possible to measure much higher currents than conventional electric meters.

Basic measurements:

• AC voltage measurement: A.C. 0-450 V
• DC voltage measurement: D.C. 0-600 V
• alternating current measurement: A.C. 0-400 A
• resistance measurement: R 0-200 kΩ
• diode test: IF 1 mA, UR 1 V
• circuit continuity test: 0-100 Ω

Measurement accuracies:

• The measurement accuracy of the 81801 meter for this range is : ±(2.5% + 10), resolution of 0.1 A
• calculation of measurement error formula: (measurement result x 2.5%) + 10 x resolution
• calculation: (30 x 2.5%) + 10 x 0.1 = 0.75 + 1 = 1.75 A

Result including measurement error for 30 A indication = 30 ± 1.75 A*

• Result including measurement error for AC voltage measurement indication: 235 V = 235 ± 5.82 V*

result including measurement error for DC voltage measurement indication: 12 V = 12 ± 3.144 V

*The 81801 meter does not have a true rms measurement function, so the above result is true only for a true sinusoidal waveform.

Built-in functions:

• AUTO - automatic adjustment of the measurement range. When measuring unknown values with a meter with manual range adjustment using the knob, take measurements sequentially from the largest range up to the range giving the most accurate result - otherwise you risk damaging the device. On the other hand, in the case of a multimeter with the AUTO function, you only need to make one measurement and the meter will automatically find the optimal range. The meter starts by default in AUTO mode
• DATA HOLD - keeping the currently measured value on the display

• automatic switchover from diode test to continuity test for circuit resistance below 100Ω (it is not possible to set the meter only for diode test)

Attention!

Current measurement with clamp meters is performed only on a single conductor, single wire. Fastening the clamps on a multiconductor cable without isolating the single conductor will show an incorrect result or zero current flow.
